David Joannes is the Founder and CEO of Within Reach Global, an organization dedicated to providing gospel access to unreached communities in Southeast Asia. David is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in Tagalog and Thai. Over the past 25 years, he has passionately pursued the fulfillment of the Great Commission, focusing on the 10\/40 Window and unreached people groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joannes’ missionary journey began with smuggling Bibles into China, during which he faced multiple interrogations and hid from authorities. His experiences include sharing meals with headhunters, evangelizing to tribal witchdoctors, and encountering armed child soldiers. Despite these challenges, Joannes has witnessed the establishment of God’s kingdom among unreached and unnamed groups through secret baptisms, underground Bible trainings, and church planting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, for over a decade, Joannes continues to lead Within Reach Global alongside his wife, Lorna, and their two daughters. He oversees a growing team of foreign and indigenous missionaries who work among animist, Islamic, atheist, and Buddhist tribes.
